Hackers? How Would You Know?

Danny Palmer:

The vast majority of organisations are failing to take a proactive approach to defending their data against cyber attacks and are only reacting once they’ve been breached - and in some instances it can take up to six months to even figure out an incident has occurred… When asked if they’d agree with the statement “While we aim to have a proactive approach to hunting out threats, the reality is that we are more reactive, dealing with them as they happen,” 85% of CIOs surveyed admitted that, yes, their organisation’s cyber defences are more reactive than proactive, waiting until after a breach in order to take proper defensive action.

85-percent? Wow.
